Background

Education

I studied computer science at the University of Michigan, where I completed an undergraduate honors thesis in cryptography. My coursework included cryptography, foundations of computer science, cybersecurity, operating systems, data structures and algorithms, and web systems.

Research

CHARTS

CHARTS began as my undergraduate honors thesis and was subsequently developed into a full research paper, now submitted for publication. It presents, to our knowledge, the fastest known anonymous routing scheme in the single honest-but-curious router setting.

Technical background

I have worked with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C++, Bash, HTML, and CSS, along with tools including React, Node.js/Express, Flask, SQLite, Git, D3.js, and Plotly. My work has included Linux systems, real-time data processing, networking and HTTP APIs, visualization, and interdisciplinary research collaboration.

Experience

Radiological Health Engineering Lab — University of Michigan

Research Assistant · May 2025 – May 2026

  • Writing software in Python that collects environmental data from local hardware such as background radiation.
  • Storing historic data in memory, on disk, and uploaded online via the Dropbox API.
  • Displaying collected data through customizable graphs with Plotly which are served through HTTP on a local server run by a Raspberry Pi.

Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing

Data Analysis Volunteer · August 2023 – November 2024

  • Parsed data published by the state of Wisconsin using the Python package PDFMiner, and merged it with an internal Pandas database.
  • Built a web-based dashboard for data visualization.

Playa Bowls

  • Managed daily operations such as maintaining the quality of food, cleanliness, and the stocking of items.
  • Oversee business and orders with outside vendors, such as food, stock, laundry, window cleaning, and pest control.

  • Train new employees and keep current employees trained.
  • Resolve issues that arise during the operation of the store.

Earlier projects

Some software i've played with include an MNIST digit recognizer, a text classifier, a custom C++ priority-map container, a D3.js CSV visualizer, a JavaFX chess application, a sorting-algorithm visualizer, and several small web and API projects.
